Life-cycle assessment (LCA) of biochar case studies in line with carbon markets
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the greenhouse gas (GHG) and environmental impacts of a number of biochar case studies in New Zealand. A life-cycle assessment (LCA) approach will be used to estimate biochar’s potential in becoming an important and cost-effective tool in climate-change mitigation and adaptation. Moreover, the feasibility of biochar to be included in carbon markets will be analysed.
